  • CLIL Lesson Planning & Material Adaptation: Practical workshops on designing effective CLIL lessons, adapting authentic subject materials, and creating language-friendly content.
  • Scaffolding Language in the CLIL Classroom: Strategies for providing linguistic support (e.g., pre-teaching vocabulary, sentence frames, graphic organizers, visual aids) to help learners access content and express themselves.
  • Assessing Content and Language in CLIL: Techniques for integrated assessment, designing rubrics for both subject knowledge and language use, and providing meaningful feedback in a CLIL context.
  • Integrating the 4 C’s: Cognition and Culture in CLIL: Exploring how CLIL promotes higher-order thinking skills and fosters intercultural understanding through subject matter.
  • Classroom Management and Interaction in CLIL Settings: Strategies for managing a diverse CLIL classroom, facilitating group work, promoting learner autonomy, and encouraging active participation.

Course Outline

Transform your teaching with 26 hours of training in CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). This course provides practical strategies for combining subject matter and language instruction, making learning more contextual and effective.   • Participants will be able to define and explain the core principles and benefits of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).
  • Participants will acquire practical strategies for designing and implementing CLIL lessons that effectively integrate subject content with language learning objectives.
  • Participants will be able to adapt existing subject-specific materials to be suitable for CLIL delivery across different language proficiency levels.
  • Participants will develop techniques for scaffolding language support within subject lessons to enhance both comprehension and production.
  • Participants will be able to assess both subject knowledge and language proficiency concurrently within a CLIL framework.
  • Participants will gain the confidence to apply CLIL methodologies to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes in both content and language.
